The most important new features of ARES Commander 2018
The ARES CAD solution is much more than just an economical alternative to expensive systems used to create and edit DWG drawings. Continuous development and innovation of technology affect the continuous increase in productivity and speed of subsequent versions of our programs.
Reading and modification of files in DWG 2018 format
ARES Commander allows you to open a new DWG format, thanks to which it ensures full compatibility in the field of data exchange
ARES Commander allows you to read and modify all drawing files of the popular DWG format, including the latest version of R2018. The program enables creation, modification and direct saving of drawings in DWG 2013-2017 format, as well as in any previous one. Thanks to this, all our drawing files can be further shared with users of other CAD programs, such as AutoCAD® or MicroStation®. The system also supports other file formats, such as DXF, DWF, DWT and DGN (import).
Palette. Resources in the cloud
The combination of ARES Commander with cloud resources and ARES Kudo allows you to synchronize all changes and modifications
The 'Cloud Resources' palette, in combination with the ARES Kudo functionality, introduces the flexibility and efficiency of cloud systems to ARES Commander. The palette shows files stored in connected cloud resources, such as Google Drive®, Dropbox® or Box®. The system allows local work on the drawing, but thanks to the automatic synchronization saves all the changes made to the cloud. For example, you can start working on a project on one computer, continue on another, and then check the correctness on the construction site using ARES Touch.
ARES Kudo - CAD system in the cloud
Full access to all DWG drawings online, anywhere, without installing anything
Clicking on the URL link received with a shared drawing causes ARES KUDO to launch the web browser session. The functionality of the system allows viewing and sharing drawings, as well as online editing. You do not need to install or update anything, just run the program on any computer and log in to your account.
Link sharing - read only
ARES Kudo allows you to create a URL link that allows you to view changes made to the project using a web browser
With this functionality, you can enable or disable online access that allows you to view the drawing. People using the provided link do not incur any fees, nor do they need to install any additional software. The link is always active, thanks to which any changes made to the drawing are updated on a regular basis. The link can be turned off at any time, if the need arises.
Changing the drawing block base point
The ability to change the base point of the block without breaking or modifying the block
The new command BATH MECHANISM significantly simplifies the modification of insertion points of drawing blocks. A new base point will be applied to the selected block as well as to all existing and future blocks of this type. Such functionality allows you to avoid embarrassing breaking, re-creating, and replacing substitution blocks that require editing.
Block attribute manager
A clear dialog for viewing and editing block attributes
The new 'block attribute manager' allows you to change the definition of existing sides in an intuitive way. The clear dialog allows you to specify the visibility of the attribute, change the display order, modify the query text appearing when inserting the block, edit the default value, and set many other parameters related to the block attribute definitions.
Improved edition of basic 3D solids
A handy way to modify 3D solids using object handles and the 'Properties' palette
After selecting one of the basic 3D solids, such as a cube or cylinder, there are new handles allowing direct modification of the dimensions of the solid. You can also specify the direction of change with the mouse, and then enter the desired value in the quick entry field located next to the pointer. Another option to change the shape and dimensions of the solid is to edit the values visible in the 'Properties' palette.
Dynamic coordinate system (DUW)
Turning on the dynamic coordinate system enables automatic adjustment of the coordinate system to the currently edited surface
The dynamic coordinate system (DUW) can be switched on or off using the interface button or using the F6 key. When DUW is active, the coordinate system settings change automatically when the cursor moves through the various surfaces of the objects.
2D and 3D Helix
Creating 2D spirals and helices in 3D space
The HELISA command is used to draw objects that map spirals (2D) and helixes (3D). The helix created in this way can be later used during extraction along the path, to create complex shapes such as threads, spiral staircases and ramps.
Formulas and functions in tables, and export to MS Excel
Inserting formulas in table cells without leaving the drawing, better data exchange with Microsoft Excel® thanks to the import / export functionality
Choosing a table for editing causes a special context tab to appear on the program's ribbon, allowing you to insert equations and functions such as the sum or average value of the selected column. The WKLEJSPECJALNIE command allows you to insert a table from Excel, and the use of the EXPORTORTABILE function allows you to export a table placed in a drawing to a .csv file, which can be edited using MS Excel or another program.
Comments in the form of multiple references
Multiple references allow you to describe a drawing using one text assigned to multiple objects using the line with arrows
Multiple references allow you to avoid placing repeated descriptions in the drawing. The same text can be assigned with the help of arrows to many elements. The VARIABLE-RETRIEVE command is associated with the STYLESHANDLIST function, which allows creating and managing referential styles. This makes it much easier to maintain consistency of descriptions in all drawings.
Improving basic functions
Moving objects using arrows, copying items to the active layer, and inserting clipboard contents into the active layer
After indicating the objects, you can move them using the arrow keys on the keyboard. The value of the incremental offset corresponding to one key press can be set in the program options. The new functionality in an interactive way facilitates the correct positioning of objects in the drawing.
When using the COPY command, a new option to insert copied objects directly on the active layer appears, instead of on the original layer. Similarly, for the INSERT command, the contents of the clipboard can be placed on the active layer.
Other new commands available in the new version of ARES Commander 2018:
USER INTERFACE MODE
Allows you to switch between the default dark user interface (black menu and ribbon) to the bright interface used in previous versions of the program (menu and ribbon in gray). The function is connected to the _COLORTHEME system variable
EDITION OF A MULTIPLE ODR
The command allows you to edit an existing multiple reference by adding to the description one more arrow lines or deleting unnecessary lines.
